Since its very beginning, Polyglass has symbolized the very heart of the entire Focal Car line-up. The main characteristics of this line combines advanced technologies, total manufacturing control and unique know-how. This process has been continually developed for more than twenty-five years, which still continues today, to reach a sound quality that is universally recognized as excellent while still remaining affordable. To arrive at this subtle balance, extreme care is taken over multiple production stages, which is why all of the key elements found in the Polyglass line are entirely manufactured in-house. The Polyglass cone, fully exploits the remarkable properties of glass, an even covering of micro glass spheres over the entire cellulose pulp paper cone greatly increases its rigidity without adding significant weight. The overall finesse of the Polyglass range comes from a combination of the tweeter and woofer, creating a neural sound with excellent detail at recreating the emotion of music.

TNB Tweeters

The inverted dome tweeter is a Focal specialty that has been developed to precisely optimize dome and coil coupling in order to transform the electrical energy into an acoustical wave with minimal loss in comparison with a conventional raised dome. The inverted dome supports itself evenly on its entire surface, which provides a much more improved three-dimensional radiation, which during listening, translates into a surprisingly large soundstage.

Polyglass Cone

The Polyglass technology, another Focal specialty, consists in the controlled deposit of hollow silica micro-spheres over a cellulose pulp cone. The main objective of that technology is to combine cellulose pulp paper damping properties with glass rigidity at very little increase of the overall mass of the cone. This combination of materials results in musical reproduction that dramatically improves accuracy in the midrange spectrum.

Crossover

The Polyglass series crossovers feature the most refined audiophile components. Level control on the crossover allows further refinement in the tuning of the tweeter in any mounting location, to facilitate better integration in all vehicles and speaker locations.
